Subjects of the day's workshop:
Prerequisite knowledge:
Participants will need to have taken the Intro to Quia workshop. Participants will also need a basic working knowledge of the SMART Board.
Content:
This workshop will continue to build upon the information from the previous Quia workshops. Participants will be introduced to and provided guidance on creating the following additional interactive Quia activities: Challenge Board, Rags to Riches, and Battleship. Participants will collaborate with participants and then create their own Quia activities introduced in the session to be used in their classroom for upcoming lesson(s).
Objectives:
How will this be workshop be taught:
The presentation will use a variety of teaching strategies including, instructional videos, lecture, hands-on activities, small group work, and step by step demonstration. Participants will also be given time to create the activities introduced for use in their classrooms. Using Quia game(s), a review of the information present thus far will be used.
Materials:
- The following 5 interactive Quia activities: Challenge Board, Rags to Riches, and Battleship
- Using the SMART Board to use Quia activities as a whole class interactive activity
- HTML tags
